January News
A new year means new opportunities! The Guymon Public Library is proud to present our first English Language Learning Class. While enrollment is currently closed, we hope to continue with a new ELL class next year in 2026. Keep an eye out for sign ups in October/November of 2025!
The library also has big plans for the current Genealogy Room. In order to encourage more use of the Genealogy collection, we have moved the collection to the main area of the library and set up research areas where people can feel more comfortable exploring their roots. What’s going to happen to the former Genealogy Room you ask! Well, based on usage we’ve been seeing, we’ve decided to transition that space into a Young Adult Lounge. The YA collection will be housed in this area along with study areas, comfy areas to spend time together, and space to collaborate. The area will also include a small coffee station. We hope teens and college students will feel comfortable utilizing this space and the Teen Space with its video games and creative space in the near future. Keep an eye out for our Grand Opening of the Young Adult Lounge coming soon!
Adult, Young Adult, and Kids programs continue this month! If you’re interested in any of our current programs, check out the Adult, Young Adult, and Kids pages to see what we’ve got lined up!
Have a wonderful new year and stay warm!
