Back to School

As Guymon and Texas County kids head back to school this week, don't forget that we have LOTS of activities, books, and services to meet everyone's needs.

For your young kiddos, check out all the books in the library and on Libby and Hoopla. Both platforms have lots of books, comics, and graphic novels for all ages.

For all your school needs (both secondary and college), check out Brainfuse's HelpNow provided for free by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries. Your kids can get live homework help, practice tests, essay/paper review and assistance, and enjoy their free platform for study group meetings and collaboration.

Need some extra practice on that language you're trying to learn, check out our Transparent Language program that offers hundreds of languages and other tools including citizenship test prep.

Teachers, are you looking for coverage of current events? NewsBank has you covered! Find full text/image copies of local newspapers and newspapers around the country along with lesson plans already prepared for your use!

Do you need a safe place for your teens to hang out after school? We've got the Teen Space with video games on the Switch and most recent Playstation. The Teen Space and Young Adult Room also make comfy places to study and gather with other students.

Lastly, we've got lots of programs coming up including StoryTimes for the littles, creative crafts for the teens, book discussions and embroidery classes for the adults and upcoming library celebrations including National Library card Month in September and the Murder Mystery Party in October.

How do I get a library card?

Bring proof of address to the library. Cards are free to those who live, work, and/or go to school in Texas County. $10 for those outside the library's service area.

Does the library have public computers?

Yes, the Guymon Public Library has computers and free WiFi. Stop by the info desk to find out more.

Can I print or fax at the library?

Yes, we have a printer and a fax machine. Black and white copies are .15 cents per page. It is $1.00 for the first page and .50 for each additional page to send or receive a fax.

Does the library have meeting rooms?

Yes, the library has several meeting rooms. Read our Meeting Room Policies and fill out an online application.
