The Guymon Public Library and Arts Center free card is available to any person who meets at least one of the following qualifications:
Resides in Texas County (including Texhoma)
Is employed by a company or organization that owns property in Texas County (including Texhoma)
Attends an accredited school located in Texas County (including Texhoma) as an enrolled student and can present student ID.
A GPL card provides access to use public computers, electronic services and resources (i.e. eBooks, databases, etc.), and to borrow materials from the library. An individual may register at the library with accepted proof of address. Any inappropriate use of one’s library card or any other person’s card may be cause for revoking privileges to use library resources, including but not limited to public computers and/or borrowing physical or digital materials.
Nonresidents of Texas County can acquire a library card at a fee of $10. All above requirements of address, etc. still apply.
To apply for a Guymon Public Library and Arts Center card, an applicant must meet the qualifications outlined under General Statement.
Adults must provide a valid photo I.D. and accepted proof of address.
The name and address provided to verify your identification must match the information entered on the application.
Identification must be presented when a change to the borrower’s address is made. To ensure that continued service is provided, cardholders should report change of name or address information promptly.
With proof of employment, school registration, or ownership of property in Texas County (including Texhoma), a patron may obtain a free library card.
If the patron’s address is outside Texas County, proof that person works, attends school, or pays taxes in Texas County will be required. Proof may be provided by presenting documents at the Guymon Public Library and Arts Center or scanned and emailed to adult.librarian.gpl@gmail.com.
The non-resident cardholder must present proof of eligibility for free card annually. These library cards will expire in one year.
To receive a card with full borrowing privileges, parent or guardian must be present for approval. Parents/guardians are responsible for the lost or damaged materials borrowed by their children.
Unaccompanied minor cards expire on the child’s 18th birthday
Regular library cards expire after three years and patrons will need to verify any changes to contact information before renewal.
Cardholders will be notified by text, phone call, or email three days before their chard expires.
Expired cards must be renewed before the cards can continue to be used for borrowing materials, downloading e-content, or accessing the library’s online databases.
The customer does not have to replace an expired card if it has not been lost or misplaced.
Cardholders from areas outside of Texas County, who work, attend school or pay property taxes in Texas County may be asked to verify their information annually to ensure continued eligibility.
Cards issued to non-resident customers must verify eligibility at shorter intervals, require similar identification and must show proof of address in person.
Proof of address will be required if there has been a change of address before a card will be renewed.
Parents may cancel their child’s Unaccompanied Minor card by phone.

Storytime
We currently have Storytime for all ages.
Summer Reading Program
Each year in June a reading program for kids, teens, and adults is held in the library. Each week the library hosts craft sessions and other programs. Come by the Library to get the complete schedule in May.
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Reading to a child helps create fond childhood memories, budding vocabulary, and builds early reading skills that are necessary for lifelong learning success. Contact the Children’s Librarian at 580-338-7330 for more information about this wonderful program and how you can get enrolled.
STEAM KITS
Hands-on learning with interactive STEAM manipulatives and a themed book. STEAM Kit cards can be found in the Kids Corner and can be checked out at the front desk.
Programs for teens include craft programs, game nights, and movie nights.
Programs for adults currently include a monthly craft (CrafterWork), book club (PageTurners), embroidery class (Sit and Stitch), and yoga classes.

Large Print
Books of fiction, non-fiction, mysteries, and westerns located conveniently at the front entrance of the library.
Genealogy
Find genealogical materials in the Genealogy room. For the use of local and visiting researchers.
Spanish Language
A collection of materials written in Spanish is available.
The library charges 15 cents per page and we can only print in black and white.

Scans and faxes are $1.00 for the first page and 50 cents for each additional page. This does not include a cover page if one is needed.
If there is something that you would like to read, let us know! This is how we expand our collection – ordering items for our collection that our customers would like to read!
Fines are 10 cents per day per item. You can renew items up to 42 days.
All residents of our County (including Texhoma) are eligible for a free library card.

The Guymon Public Library and Arts Center provides access to materials not owned by this library but available at other libraries through the Interlibrary Loan Service. Request a form at the front desk or fill out our INTERLIBRARY LOAN REQUEST FORM online and the Library will notify you when your requests are available for pick-up.
Most interlibrary loans take about one to three weeks to arrive.
The library has three public meeting rooms which are available on a first come first served basis if not needed for library programs. Consult the Meeting Room Policy and Application to see procedures.
Call us at the library to see if a room is available. Rooms are available during library operating hours. Monday – Thursday 9:30AM – 7PM, Friday 9:30AM – 5PM, and Saturday 9:30AM – 2PM.
View the use policies and fill out the application form then either fax (580-338-2659) or scan (adult.librarian.gpl@gmail.com) to us. Rooms are not reserved till library staff receive the application.
