Digital Collections

What people primarily think of when they think of the library is its collection of in print materials such as books, magazines, and newspapers, the vast majority of libraries today also offer digital collections including access to databases, eBooks, and audiobooks which can be checked out with a library card. Probably one of the most well-known of these digital collections is the Library of Congress’s Digital Collection. Searchers can find all sorts of nifty documents here such as digital scans of Aaron Copland’s musical manuscripts, historic American newspapers, and Civil War maps among other treasures. If you’re a history buff, this is definitely one site you should be checking out!

Spotlight on Genre: Realistic Fiction!

Realistic fiction tells a story that is possible, but the story is told in a creative and artistic way. The story itself doesn’t have to be true, but it could be! Here are a couple of Blair Henson’s personal favorites from this genre.
